The 2008 race season was awesome.  So much fun with many good races and a lot of sweet riding.  I progessed a ton, from a struggling semi-pro to competitive pro dowhill racer.  I had a couple wins and a few podiums.  My first pro win was special to say the least.  15th at the national champs was the highlight of the season, I pulled out a fast finals run after super D practice and racing, then DH practice and a qualifing run.

After a summer like that I needed to find a way to step it up in the of season.  Sitting on the couch watching the snow fall was not an option.  I jumped on the chance to head out to socal for the winter.  It turned out to be the dream life for 3 months.  No work, perfect weather, good friends and nothing to do but ride everyday.  For 3 months!

Coming back east was tough, but I needed to get back to work and earn some money for the 2009 race season.  I picked up a new bike sponsor and had to dail in my new sinister f-bomb before I started racing.  I also tried to keep my fitness up until the first race of the season and did alright.  12th place at the US open of MTB in the pro class.  That result let me know that my off season training paid off and I had progessed to another level.  June and July was up and down results.  On the podium one week, crashing or off pace the next.  I was low on money, not having fun at some events, and sick of mud.  National Champs weekend ended with me choking in the finals run.  I had missed each chance to get uci points so far (what you need to race world cups).  To take my racing career to the next level I need UCI points.  I am working right now to change my training program so I can finish the season strong.  I also worked with sinister bikes to make changes to the bike.  With better fitness and a dailed bike, I will have fun racing the rest of the season more pinned.  I'm less broke than two months ago, so that helps too.  Its looking good for at least one win before 2009 is in the books.

clipper pro GRT 11th place) 12 to go!

The 2007 racing season is in the books.  I'm happy with how it ended up.  I reached the podium three times, did a lot of fun riding and best of all started a race team with a group of friends.  I progressed in my riding skills, mental strength and physical strength.  It went by so fast and has really put into perspective how fast life goes by.  It feels like I was still in my teens not too long ago.  That more than anything has motivated me to be more than just a mid-pack pro, I want to be on top locally and then at world cups.  I plan to push myself harder now in training and during the 2008 race season.   The goal will be to ride my best at the bigger races and really focus on getting UCI points.

The rain held off for a great weekend of racing at Bromont in Canada.  It was the first dh round of the canada cup and they created a nice track.  I did way too many runs on and off the race course and had little power left for the timed run.  I had a good run going but ran out of steam early.  I hope to build some endurance for the next race and put up a better effort.  Everyone should checkout trail 7 bingbang, its really fun.

It feels great to be out riding again, even better that I`m a sweet Iron horse sunday. A shippment of 661 riding gear should be here soon. The US open in Vernon, NJ is a little over a month away, I`m signed up for Pro open and can`t wait to ride the mountain. Other races on my scedual include Mount snow`s local race series, the mount snow nmbs race, and Mount Saint Anne World cup if the early races go well. One or two Platikill and Diablo domination series races are in the works aswell. And if races are scedualed at highlands or bolton valley I`ll be there. See you at the races.
